Staff are available at the Library & IT Desk to help with any queries that readers may have about:

  • Library Accounts
  • Requests
  • High Demand Collection
  • Holds
  • Group Research Rooms
  • Copy Room
  • Automated services
  • Quadrangle Reading Room
  • Student IT services

If the express service units do not issue/return books correctly, these items must be taken to staff at this Desk.

For regular borrowing and returns go to the appropriate machines located on Q floor.

Readers may renew items which they already have on loan through the Library webpage under "My Library Account" or by using the self issue machines.

They may also request items on loan to other readers.  When the item is returned, a notification is sent to the person who has requested the item and it is kept at the Services Desk for 2 days.

The High Demand Collection operates on a “first-come, first-served” basis and items may not be requested or renewed.  The Self-Issue machine located in this room must be used for all borrowing and returning.  Any queries about this collection can be directed to the Customer Services Desk.
