DVD, Blu-ray and VHS:
A large collection of DVDs is located beside the Multimedia area on Q+3. We also hold a growing collection of Blu-ray discs. DVDs and Blu-ray discs are available for a 3-day loan period.
The Library also holds a large VHS collection, which are kept in the Library store and are retrievable through the Library catalogue by clicking on the ‘request’ button.
To find DVD, Blu-ray and VHS check the Library Catalogue for details. Search the catalogue by title or keyword and then ‘Modify Search’ to material type ‘Video/DVD’.
Note: Some DVDs are held with the High Demand Collection on the Q floor (4-hour loan).
CDs and CD-ROMs:
CDs and CD-ROMs are shelved in the Audio Visual section on Q+3. Check the Library Catalogue for full details.
Vinyl Record Collection:
The Library holds a large collection of vinyl records (approx. 3000). These are held in the Library store, are retrievable and can be played on record players in the multimedia area on Q+3. They are not listed on the catalogue, but a full listing is available at the Information Point on Q+2. Some have been digitised and are available in the Library on CD. To locate these, search the Library catalogue under Collection/Vinyl.
The cassette collection is located within the multimedia area on Q+3. Many are listed on the Library catalogue. Facilities for playing cassettes are available in the multimedia area.
Music:(streaming audio): Music Online: over 400,000 tracks; Classical, Contemporary World Music and Jazz.
Images: ARTstor : over 1 million images for art, architecture, humanities and social sciences.
Note: Music scores are shelved on Q+3 and can be read in the Library.
