Institutional Repository

CORA (Cork Open Research Archive)  is the University College Cork (UCC) Institutional Repository (IR). Institutional repositories are a key part of the wider Open Access to Research movement which seeks to provide free online access to the full text of scholarly publications. Open access repositories are interoperable as they adhere to common standards such as those from the Open Archives Initiative. In Ireland, Rian, the Irish open access portal, harvests the records of full text items from CORA.

CORA was set up by UCC Library and funded in part through project funding from the Irish Government's 'Strategic Innovation Fund' Cycle 2.  The project was carried out by the seven Irish university libraries, and was supported by the Irish Universities Association (IUA).  CORA supports the preservation, dissemination and promotion of research and will showcase the wide range of research being undertaken in UCC.
